There’s plenty of boozy ice cream on the market, from big name brands like Häagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry’s to small artisan shops. But most of the stuff you’ll find in the supermarket or ice cream parlor doesn’t actually contain much alcohol at all.
Arctic Buzz is doing things a little differently. The Baltimore-based company teamed up with a local distillery to craft six flavors of vodka ice cream: cookies and cream, key lime pie, raspberry, coconut, vanilla, and chocolate. Each flavor ranges from 8.6 to 8.9 percent ABV per 100-milliliter container, so this is one case where you definitely don’t want to inhale the entire pint.
But how did the duo get the vodka to freeze? The company claims they tested numerous recipes to achieve the smooth hand-chruned dessert. The boozy magic is only sold across Maryland for now, but while we call in a favor to our Baltimore connections, you can always make your own alcoholic ice cream at home.
