This “Ginternship” May Be the Coolest Gig Ever

You’ve heard the classic tales of interns fetching coffee, filing paperwork and tackling other forms of grunt work. By that standard, traveling around Europe and drinking free gin seems like a pretty big upgrade.

That’s exactly what’s in the job description for ILoveGin’s “gintern” position. The website, which offers a monthly Gin & Tonic club, is currently looking for an intern to help research the latest and greatest in craft gins, tonics and mixers.

The part-time “ginternship” requires two days of work per week. Some weekly travel will be involved, including visiting one or two new gin distilleries spread across the U.K. and parts of Europe. Minus those visits and monthly check-ins at ILoveGin’s West London office, you can work remotely from the comfort of your own home or local coffee shop.

And if free gin and travel weren’t enough to convince you, the intern will be paid a competitive salary (up to $26K per year!) and receive a monthly Gin & Tonic box, plus all the booze and mixers they can stomach during research excursions.

The position will last for six months, with the possibility of converting to a full-time position at the end of the internship. Qualifications include being over the age of 18, having a driver’s license and, of course, being a gin aficionado. The site also requests that you have excellent English skills, a love a travel and an outgoing personality. Alas, for us gin-loving Americans, you need to be a resident of the U.K. to qualify for the role. But this might be one position worth emigrating for! Interested applicants can find more details here.
