For more than a century, beer and baseball have been a dynamic duo representing summertime in America. And while not much has changed with America’s pastime, Major League Baseball stadiums are always looking to bring in more fans.
Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, will debut a signature beer on August 10, the Beerded Brewer IPA. In May, Brewers first baseman Eric Thames, reliever Oliver Drake and all-star closer Corey Knebel visited real brewers at MillerCoors to help create the namesake beer for the ballpark.
The players spent a day at the brewery working alongside brewing experts and getting a thorough lesson on the science of beer. Thames, a self-proclaimed IPA fan, submitted his own “wish list” that consisted of appearance, style and taste. Looking for a citrusy flavor, the three agreed on an experimental set of hops that carried a grapefruit aroma.
For those interested in the opportunity to taste the rare, exclusive beer, you’ll need to purchase a package ticket. The deals are available now for the first 1,000 fans beginning at $40, which includes a ticket to the game, a 12-ounce Beerded Brewer IPA, a special Beerded Brewer IPA glass and a 16-ounce Barrelman Ale.
This idea looks like a grand slam to us.
