The Best Photos on Instagram This Week

Contributed by

We love Instagram (follow us pls!), but we can’t be everywhere at once. Each week, we’re going to share the best photos of drinks, bars, bottles—basically everything boozy—that Instagram has to offer.

This week in insta-booze, there’s an office remembering the cocktails in Mad Men, some friends spending time in one of San Francisco’s iconic bars and—aren’t we seeing this banana garnish everywhere? Also, why doesn’t my hairdresser hand me a cocktail when crafting my ‘do?

Have a cocktail that deserves the star treatment? Tag your photos with #liquorgram and soon everyone could be drooling over your perfect union in next week’s Instagram roundup.

Blue Moon This cloudy cocktail takes its cues from one of our favorite classics, The Aviation. Both were introduced at roughly the same time in the early 1900’s, but while the latter was being published in Hugo Ensslin’s Recipes For Mixed Drinks in 1916, The Blue Moon was enjoying its run as the house cocktail at Joel’s Bohemia in New York City. Joel’s was noted as a place of romance and vibrancy, where New York’s actors, artists, and musicians went to eat and drink. Naturally, The Blue Moon was regularly enjoyed by some of the city’s most famous residents. Although the modern revival of the classic cocktail has repopularized drinks like The Aviation, The Blue Moon has become hardly more than a ghost of the past, all but forgotten in time. But for those of us who have found and enjoyed it again, cheers! Recipe 2oz Dry Gin 1/2oz Crème De Violette 1/2oz lemon juice Shake ingredients with ice. Strain into a stemmed glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and serve. #cocktail #cocktails #bluemoon #violette #gin #drinks #bartender #cocktailculture #mixology #liquorgram #cocktailporn A photo posted by These Pour Souls (@thesepoursouls) on
