Discount retailers from Aldi to Trader Joe’s are jumping in on the booze business, introducing their own beer, wine and spirits at a fraction of the price of big-name brands. The latest to join the craze is our beloved Target, and we’re pretty excited about this one.
Target announced today it’s introducing five wine blends, all available for just $5. California Roots Wines are made from California-grown grapes and will be available starting September 3. at more than 1,100 stores.
The line debuts with three whites and two reds complete with descriptions and suggested food pairings. For white, you can choose from a chardonnay, pinot grigio or a moscato. For red, select from a cabernet sauvignon or a red blend. We’re surprised it didn’t opt to capitalize on the summer of rosé, but hey, this is only the beginning.
