Sandra Lee Launches New Margarita Line

It’s cocktail time!

Or, to be more specific, it’s Margarita time. Sandra Lee, the celebrity chef famous for her concept of “semi-homemade cooking” recently launched a line of bottled Margaritas. The ready-to-drink Margs get their name from Lee’s catchphrase, “It’s cocktail time!”

“My endless search for the perfect margarita has come to a happy end,” Sandra Lee told PR Newswire. “[…] After personally testing and tasting all of the ready-to-serve Margaritas and pre-made cocktails on the market, along with signature recipes from restaurants and lounges, and my own kitchen creations, I’m proud to present my new, absolutely delicious, ready-to-serve Sandra Lee Cocktail Time™ Margaritas and Margarita Cocktails. They make any time of day… ‘the best time of the day.'”

At 13 percent ABV, the drinks are available in Key Lime or Strawberry flavors, and the bottles feature suggested recipes that can only be described, appropriately enough, as “semi-homemade cocktails.” While they can be served on their own with ice, Lee also suggests mixing the Key Lime flavor with pink grapefruit soda for a Grapefruit Martini, or the Strawberry flavor with cranberry juice and grapefruit soda for a Strawberry Cosmopolitan (apparently these Margarita mixes go beyond the expected use).

It’s probably best to stick with a tried and true recipe when making a Martini or Cosmopolitan, but in Sandra Lee’s defense, Cocktail Time Margaritas are made with real fruit, sugar, tequila and triple sec.

A bottle of Cocktail Time Margaritas, which goes for $16, serves six people and is now available for purchase across the United States.
