San Francisco Cocktail Week: 2011

Some of the world’s best bartenders work in the Bay Area, and from September 19 to 25, the area plays host to the fifth annual San Francisco Cocktail Week.

The mixological celebration, co-founded by H. Joseph Ehrmann, a Liquor.com advisor and owner of the famed bar Elixir, will include a range of fun and educational bar crawls, spirited seminars and pairing dinners. (Enter our contest for a chance to win a trip for two to attend the Cocktail Week, including plane tickets, hotel accommodations and event tickets.)

We’re particularly excited for the Shaker & Flask showcase on Wednesday, September 21, at Big Daddy’s Antiques. You’ll be able to see up-close some of the most high-tech bartending techniques out there—we’re talking about ingredients like liquid nitrogen—and get to try an array of cutting-edge concoctions.

Another thing you shouldn’t miss is the Barbary Coast Bazaar on Friday, September 23, at the Old Mint. Sip tasty drinks and snack on gourmet appetizers while enjoying a circus-like spectacle complete with fortunetellers, stilt walkers, contortionists and magicians. It will surely be a night to remember.
