Pizza Hut Could Soon Be Delivering Booze Near You

Contributed by

There’s nothing better than pizza and beer, right? So if you’re going to order Pizza Hut, you may as well get some beer to go with it. Or, if you’re too lazy to head to the store to pick up a six-pack, you may as well just order a pizza?

That’s what Pizza Hut is counting on as it tests alcohol delivery starting today in Phoenix. Customers can order six-packs of Budweiser, Bud Light, Shock Top and Kilt Lifter (a local beer brewed in Tempe, Ariz.) with no additional fees, along with traditional menu items.

The pizza purveyor hopes to roll out the program across the U.S. in tandem with growing its overall alcohol program. It’s adding liquor licenses in current locations without one “quickly” and plans to add wine and other craft beers to its lineup of delivery items.

Restaurant chains across the nation are trying hard to entice customers with liquor deals these days. But can pizza and beer beat $1 Long Island Iced Teas and Twisted Freezes? Only time will tell.
