Move over, Fireball. There’s a new flavored whiskey in town, and it tastes like a lunchbox favorite you might remember from grade school.
Dubbed the Peanut Butter and Jam Old Fashioned, it’s peanut-infused American bourbon that’s flavored with raspberry syrup and Himalayan pink salt. Its creator claims that its product “dares to combine the best bits of being a kid and an adult.” Tasting notes on online retailer Firebox describe the whiskey’s “unmistakable peanut-butter finish.” Charmingly, each bottle is sealed with raspberry-scented wax.
Created by Aske Stephenson (the research-and-development branch of Fluid Movement, the folks behind London’s Worship Street Whistling Shop and other English bars), PB&J Old Fashioned joins a growing line of curiously flavored spirits, including a beeswax-flavored liqueur and a Sazerac-style premixed drink called Leather & Walnut 1852. And the brand isn’t done yet: Upcoming flavors are slated to include a Flat White Russian, a Cigar & Coffee Manhattan and a Sesame & Popcorn Daiquiri.
