For the competition, entrants must make two cocktails: your version of a classic Manhattan, made with Woodford Reserve Distiller’s Select Bourbon, and a cocktail of your own creation using Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. The cocktails will be judged in regional heats, and the winners of each heat will be flown to Kentucky, where they’ll get the VIP Woodford Reserve Distillery experience.
Of the 34 regional finalists, only six will advance to the finals in New York (round trip airfare and lodging provided), where they’ll mix Manhattans in—that’s right—Manhattan.
The grand prize winner will be flown to San Francisco, where the winning bartender will be featured in a three-part video series and article on Liquor.com. Don’t forget the bragging rights either.
