Oh Canada!

This year, the neighbors to the North have reason to celebrate. Crown Royal’s Northern Harvest Rye, made from rye grown in Canada, was just named the 2016 World Whisky of the Year.

It’s a blended rye whisky—the company’s first—that’s so special renowned whisky writer Jim Murray called it “a masterpiece,” praising its sweet-and-spicy flavor profile. And while being named World Whisky of the Year should be enough laurels to rest on, Northern Harvest Rye also took home a double gold medal at this year’s San Francisco World Spirits competition.

It may be decorated, but it’s also incredibly drinkable, with a sweet-and-spicy flavor and smooth finish that make it equally well suited to being consumed neat, on the rocks or in a rye cocktail.

Besides, who doesn’t like a winner?
