Be Bold with D’USSÉ and Cazadores | Partner Tip

Summer may be full of light, unthinking pleasures—pool parties and beach balls; sun and sand—but it’s important to remember little luxuries, too. Here are two beautifully bottled spirits that not only make gorgeous bold additions to any home bar, but also go well in deliciously bold cocktails: D’USSÉ VSOP Cognac and CAZADORES tequila.

D’USSÉ Cognac is made for summer sunsets. Neat, on the rocks, or spun into a classic Vieux Carré cocktail (recipe below), its woodsy notes and light floral bouquet shine. Its iconic design is as much a conversation starter as its silky-smooth taste: Crafted at France’s Château de Cognac—where some of the world’s finest cognacs have been made over the last two centuries—the bottle glows with the Cross of Lorraine, a French symbol of honor and courage.


Vieux Carré

  • 1 part D’USSÉ™ VSOP Cognac
  • 1 part rye whiskey
  • 1 part NOILLY PRATT® Rouge sweet vermouth
  • Dash Peychaud’s bitters
  • Dash Angostura bitters
  • ½ part Bénédictine® Liqueur
  • Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and strain into a cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a lemon peel.

Craving something a little different but equally bold? Tequila CAZADORES comes in a new bottle that highlights the tequila’s iconic stamp, the powerful and majestic stag. CAZADORES will retain its most important asset: a long-standing recipe that has stood the test of time. For more than 90 years, CAZADORES has been produced in small batches by a Master Tequilero who oversees double fermentation, double distillation and careful maturation of its Highland Tequila, made of 100-percent blue agave and aged in virgin oak barrels. The same recipe created by Don José María so many years ago lives in each new bottle of Tequila CAZADORES. It is fabulous on the rocks, neat or shaken into the slightly spicy, super-refreshing Margarita recipe below.

Maverick Margarita

  • 1 1/2 parts Tequila CAZADORES Blanco
  • 3 parts sweet and sour mix
  • 2 slices of fresh jalapeño, muddled
  • 1 part fresh lime juice
  • In a mixing glass, add all the ingredients with ice, shake and serve on the rocks (salt rim optional).
  • Garnish with a lime wedge or jalapeño wheel.
