It’s Pappy season again. If you’re a whiskey lover, your feeds have become clogged in recent weeks with discussions on where to get the coveted bourbon and if it’s really worth the price tag it can garner on the black market.
The Louisville division of Kroger Wine and Spirits Stores will reportedly be selling Old Rip Van Winkle bottles through a lottery system this Black Friday. Head to one of the 47 locations from 4 to 8 p.m. November 23, and you’ll be able to complete one entry per store.
The winners will be called the next morning, allowing them 48 hours to claim whatever type of bottle they selected before. Kroger hasn’t said which bottles are available to win, but this year’s releases include a 10-year-old, 12-year-old, 15-year-old, 20-year-old, 23-year-old and 13-year-old rye ranging from $60 and $230. The lucky few will be limited to a three-bottle purchase.
If you don’t win, why not try and make your own Pappy this year? Just don’t try to make it into Jell-O shots.
