Lagavulin is no stranger to the small and big screen. But no character has loved this classic whisky more than Ron Swanson from the popular sitcom series “Parks and Recreation.” Nick Offerman, who plays Ron Swanson, is a huge fan of Lagavulin whisky just like his fictional counterpart. Recently, he has teamed up with Lagavulin’s distillery manager, Colin Gordon, to create a limited-edition 11-year-old single malt whisky.
Offerman hand-selected the golden-hued liquid that will be known as Lagavulin Offerman Edition Aged 11 Years. Expect notes of dried fruit and spice blended in with the scotch’s signature peatiness.
Fans can anticipate Offerman’s real-life version of the “nectar of the gods” that will be released later this month, but for now, we’ll leave you with this quote from the man himself:
“I have traveled the world and sampled many attempts at pleasing nectars, but it is solely this distillation of Islay, a tiny, charismatic Scottish isle, that has claimed my palate. Yeah, and my heart into the bargain.”
