If you’re sitting on the couch watching March Madness, chips and beer seem like a great mashup. But on a busy interstate highway? Not so much.
Unfortunately for the drivers of a Frito-Lay semitrailer and a Busch beer truck, that’s exactly what happened early Wednesday morning. According to Florida’s First Coast News, the crash between the two trucks happened on a stretch of Interstate 95 in Brevard County, closing southbound lanes for nearly four hours and littering the pavement with a shower of beer and snacks.
“Neither driver was hurt, but you had Doritos and Busch beer all over I-95,” Sergeant Kim Montes, a spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol, told NBC News. “That’s like a Super Bowl commercial right there.”
The casualties were limited to edible ones: All of the beer and chips were destroyed. A spokeswoman for the Florida Highway Patrol said, “They can’t take the risk of [the food or beer] having some type of internal damage.”
