What do you get when a cannabis-loving mixologist gets in on the smoky cocktail craze? Up in Smoke—a $25 hemp- and hops-inspired drink.

Tequila blanco, house mosaic-hopped cucumber soda, lemon and celery bitters make up the drink’s liquid component, which is served from a water pipe decanter (wink, wink) with a hop cone stuffed in its downstem. After the hop cone is set ablaze and the smoke’s aroma fills the air, the liquid is served over ice.

Got the munchies? Snack on Up in Smoke’s suggestive garnish of cucumber cut into the letters “THC.”

The drink may seem like any unlikely fit at Gracias Madre—a plant-based Mexican spot in West Hollywood—but self-proclaimed stoner and beverage director Jason Eisener sees the cocktail as a way to teach foodies about the similarities between cannabis and hops.
