Gift Guide: Summer

Now that you’ve survived another winter and spring, it’s time to enjoy the summer in style. To help you out, we’ve rounded up a group of spirited items. Any of them would make a perfect host gift, but all are so great you might want to keep them for yourself.

Jeni’s Whiskey & Pecans Ice Cream ($12):

You’ll forget about rum raisin once you taste this decadent whiskey and pecan ice cream. The creamy and rich treat is dotted with whole double-toasted nuts and flavored with actual Oyo Whiskey distilled in Columbus, Ohio. Also, try Jeni’s Cherry Lambic Sorbet, which incorporates real beer.

Champagne Truffles ($20):

What’s better than chocolates and Champagne? Champagne cork-shaped milk-chocolate truffles full of Taittinger Brut La Française bubbly. Only master pastry chef and dessert wizard Jacques Torres could think of something so wonderful.

Recycled Demijohn Cheese Dome and Board ($40):

Usually the fun ends when the bottle is empty, but ingenious green firm The Bottle Mill recycles old alcohol vessels into housewares. Our favorite is this cheese dome and board made from a wine demijohn, reclaimed wood scraps and a Patrón Tequila stopper.

Tokyo Beer Soap ($6.75) & The Hipster Beer Soap ($6.75):

While we may occasionally be accused of smelling like a barroom, at least we now have a good excuse: beer soap. The aptly named Beer Soap Company uses some of the finest brews from around the world, including Kirin Ichiban and Brooklyn Red Lager, for its products.
