As we count down the days until the final season of “Game of Thrones” premieres, we’re going to need as much mental preparation as we can get.
Luckily, that now includes a new “Game of Thrones” beer from Brewery Ommegang. The Cooperstown, N.Y., brewer that has been crafting releases dedicated to the HBO show for years is back at it again just in time for the final season.
For the Throne is a beer-wine hybrid using pinot grigio and viognier grape juice with a beer base of pilsner and Carapils malts. The brew is then bottle-conditioned with Champagne yeast for a boost of effervescence. The golden copper also has “aromas of honeysuckle and toasted grain” that “mingle with notes of pear and apricot.”
The beer should be available in 750-milliliter bottles nationwide by early April. You may also be able to find it on draft in select locations as well as at the brewery.
As always, remember to drink responsibly and not at all like Tyrion.
