Liquor.com, Bacardí, and The USBG are teaming up to help lock in your legacy as a bartender. For this year’s USBG Legacy Cocktail Competition sponsored by Bacardí, top bartenders around the U.S.A. will compete for the sought-after title. Each will have only six ingredients in his or her arsenal—including Bacardí Superior, Carta Oro rum or Bacardi 8-year.

The winner will be the best of the best. Someone who’s ready for the spotlight and to see some of the world’s finest distilleries.

Here’s how Legacy will go down—if you’re in it to win it:

  • The Ultimate Prize: The winner will represent the U.S.A. in the Global Legacy Cocktail Competition against 34 other nations on your “home turf,” San Francisco, California.
  • The Drink: A cocktail you’re proud to call your signature drink, and one that will become an effortless part of the cocktail lexicon, transcending borders, tastes and trends.
  • The Process: 90 bartenders will compete in person during local competitions held in nine U.S. cities, with 18 of those progressing to the three regional competitions held on the beautiful grounds of Bacardí’s Mexico distillery. The six exceptional finalists that emerge from the regionals will compete on the national stage in San Francisco for the title of U.S. Legacy Champion 2016.
  • The Journey: The eventual winner will have beat the odds to triumph over your U.S. bartendering peers in four rounds of competition, in two different countries—to win the coveted title previously held by Ran Duan.

Submit your recipe, and if this year’s expert judges like what they see, you’ll soon be making it in person in front of a panel of those expert judges. You’ll compete in front of your fellow pros and all kinds of people from the national food-and-drink media.
