Fans of “Downton Abbey” can now drink like their favorite British aristocrats. In addition to the movie coming out on September 20, three new “Downton Abbey” wines have been released.
These Crawley-family-inspired wines were created by Lot18, the same company that has produced other media-driven wines such as “Portlandia” wine, “The Lord of the Rings” wine and “Assassin’s Creed” wine. The “Downton Abbey” wines were made in collaboration with NBCUniversal and Focus Features and display the Crawley family coat of arms and a silhouette of the abbey itself on the label.
Fans will be able to enjoy a sparkling rosé said to be from “the oldest sparkling wine company from the Loire,” a 2018 Bordeaux blanc and a 2018 Bordeaux rouge. The blanc is supposed to be “lively and [have] fresh fruit flavors of white grapefruit and lemon,” while the rouge is “elegant and rich, with aromas of red, blackberry and blackcurrant.”
The wines are available in limited quantity to purchase now at select Cost Plus World Markets or via Lot18.
