The Dead Rabbit Owner Named VP of Restaurant Recovery

The Dead Rabbit

An organization dedicated to helping restaurant and bar employees struggling with addiction has appointed a new vice president of board of directors.

Jack McGarry, a co-founder and managing partner at The Dead Rabbit in NYC, will join four other board of directors in working on Restaurant Recovery. McGarry is also celebrating more than two years in long-term recovery from addiction.

“I think the important thing for me with Restaurant Recovery was that when I was in treatment I wanted to make it easier for other people to come forward and talk openly about their issues,” McGarry said in a statement. “But also, and more importantly, that we can have some resources to actually help. Talking is an important first step, but without a plan, it’s nothing.”

Restaurant Recovery helps restaurant workers find and pay for drug and alcohol treatment and helps loved ones get the assistance they need. They also advocate for change in the restaurant industry through increased awareness.
