Bud Light believes in welcoming extraterrestrial visitors to America properly—with a beer.
A Facebook event called “Storm Area 51, They Can’t Stop All of Us” recently garnered the attention of the internet when around 3 million people said they were interested in the event. This group included Anheuser-Busch, the company behind Bud Light, that initially declined any involvement with the raid on the Nevada Air Force base. Later, the company announced via its Twitter account that it would like to offer “free Bud Light to any alien that makes it out” of the planned raid.
The beer company even went so far as to redesign a selection of beer cans with alien-themed imagery and copy. The new label asks readers to “take us to your leader … for drinks.” Anheuser-Busch said that if the tweet with the redesign gets 51,000 retweets, it will make it happen and people will be able to purchase the alien-themed beer cans. As of this publishing, the tweet has just 30,150 retweets.
The Air Force doesn’t seem so fond of the event, issuing a statement on the event saying, “Any attempt to illegally access military installations or military training areas is dangerous.”
