Booze found in a box doesn’t exactly have the best reputation. But believe it or not, perceptions are changing, with boxed wine winning awards and proving that the container doesn’t always indicate lesser quality.
And now even more producers are entering the booze in a box genre. You can now purchase boxed whiskey, vodka and tequila in several states from Black Box, the producer of award-winning wines sold in a box. The company said that consumers should expect the same level of quality in its spirits—its wines have won more than 50 gold medals in wine competitions nationwide.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen whiskey in a box. Back in 2016, Fireball introduced Firebox, a 3.5-liter box of the cinnamon whiskey with two pour spouts.
The vodka retails at $23, and tequila and whiskey cost $25 each. The new products are currently available in Colorado, Louisiana, Missouri, New Jersey, Nevada and Pennsylvania.
