Kentucky Bourbon Warehouse Collapses, Spilling 9,000 Barrels

Contributed by

Part of a whiskey distillery in Kentucky collapsed Friday, sending thousands of barrels spilling into the surrounding area.

The Barton 1792 Distillery warehouse stored about 20,000 barrels, and approximately 9,000 of those were affected, according to Bloomberg sources.

Barton is owned by Sazerac, which also owns Buffalo Trace Distillery. No injuries were reported, and nobody was inside during the collapse.

The question is: How many of those barrels will be salvageable?
