Around the country, skiers are gearing up for another season on the slopes. As you plan your wintry vacations, you should consider not only snowfall levels and chairlift speeds but also where you can hang out après-ski. Relax those sore muscles and warm up after a day spent out on the trails with a well-made cocktail at one of these mountain retreats.

39 Degrees, Sky Hotel, 709 East Durant Avenue, Aspen, Colo., 970 925 6760:

In the shadow of Aspen Mountain and with Snowmass and Buttermilk nearby, 39 Degrees at the Sky Hotel is the place to lounge once you’re ready to take off your goggles and gloves. Sit beside the crackling fireplace and sip classic cocktails updated by Denis Cote, the establishment’s resident mixologist and general manager.

High West Distillery & Saloon, 703 Park Avenue, Park City, Utah, 435 649 8300:

Head to the High West Distillery & Saloon at the bottom of Park City Mountain’s Quit ’N Time ski run and snag a seat at the old-timey bar. Utah’s first distillery since the 1870s, High West crafts small-batch spirits like Rendezvous Rye and Vodka 7000’. The saloon offers an impressive menu of cocktails and spirits from all over the world.
What to Drink: Rock n’ Rye (High West Rendezvous Rye Whiskey, hot water, lemon juice, honey, cinnamon stick)

Hourglass, Stowe Mountain Lodge, 7412 Mountain Road, Stowe, Vt., 802 253 3560:

After a run on Mount Mansfield or Spruce Peak, settle in at the Hourglass (pictured above) inside the Stowe Mountain Lodge—one of the only ski-in/ski-out resorts in the area. The bar boasts a good selection of microbrews (including their own local Hourglass Ale), rare wines by the glass and a list of seasonal-inspired cocktails.
What to Drink: Harvest (house-spiced vodka, Eden Vermont Ice Cider, cranberry juice, apple cider)

Osprey Lounge, The Osprey at Beaver Creek, 10 Elk Track Lane, Beaver Creek, Colo., 970 754 7400:

Adjacent to the snow-capped peaks of Beaver Creek Mountain, the Osprey not only has an outdoor hot tub but also an outdoor heated pool and deck with a bar. If you want to escape the elements, imbibe in the Osprey Lounge, which offers a range of cocktails and tapas-style snacks.
What to Drink: Turquoise Trail Margarita (Don Julio Reposado Tequila, blue Curaçao, lemon juice, lime juice)

Zinc Bar, Amangani, 1535 North East Butte Road, Jackson, Wyo., 307 734 7333:

Guests at the deluxe Amangani, perched high above the town of Jackson, spend their days exploring the glories of Grand Teton National Park and their evenings sipping drinks at the Zinc Bar. Grab a stool close to the action or chill out in a comfy chair by the floor-to-ceiling windows and take in the stunning view.
