BeerCoin Is The Virtual Currency You’ve Been Waiting For

Heavy Seas Alehouse in Baltimore

Bitcoin isn’t exactly easy to understand or use for the average consumer. The worldwide cryptocurrency and digital payment system may not have caught on across the nation yet, but we just found a new currency we can definitely get on board with.

BeerCoin is virtual money you can send to friends as a form of payment—that is, if your friends like beer more than money. When you send someone a BeerCoin, according to their website, “you instantly make a moral contract with that person and you will then owe that person the equivalent of the beercoins you sent in actual beer in your beloved pub!”

Simply type in your recipient’s email address and select how many BeerCoins you’d like to send. He or she will then get an email in their inbox alerting them about the transaction.

Alright, so it’s not exactly a form of currency that will be accepted anywhere, but we can dream. BeerCoins are free to send and available to “purchase” now.
