11-Foot Alligator Breaks Into Home, Smashes Wine Collection

Contributed by

A 77-year-old Florida resident, Mary Wischhusen, discovered an unlikely visitor raiding her home for a nightcap last week.

An 11-foot-long alligator broke through Wischhusen’s bottom floor window and, according to reports, headed straight for the resident’s wine cabinet. Wischhusen told Fox 13 Tampa, “He got my red wine—the good stuff.”

The gator broke many bottles during his intrusion, in addition to damaging walls and a dining room table.

In all, it took 12 people (10 police officers and two wildlife trappers) to safely remove the grape-happy gator from the premises. He has since been removed to a private location so that he may recover from his “traumatic experience.”
