It might only be August, but it’s never too soon to start dreaming about the holiday season. Grocery stores have been stocking pumpkin spice products for weeks, so you can’t blame us for bookmarking our favorite Eggnog recipes and ordering supplies for whiskey Christmas ornaments.
Aldi, the discount grocery chain already well-known for its affordable wines and award-winning spirits, just announced it will debut its wine advent calendar in the U.S. for the first time this year. Each $70 calendar comes with 24 mini bottles of wine, which comes out to less than $3 per bottle. Find it on shelves starting November 7, along with a cheese version.
Boozy advent calendars have been increasing in popularity in recent years, most notably in Europe. Drinks by the Dram began accepting pre-orders for its spirit advent calendars, housing 24 different one-ounce pours, in September 2017, and we expect 2018 orders to begin soon.
If you don’t live near an Aldi or think that price tag is too high, you can always grab some friends and craft your own.
