Fans of Caddyshack, your wildest dreams have come true!
Bill Murray, known for his role as groundskeeper Carl Spackler in the cult film, announced last year that he and his brothers plan to open a restaurant outside of Chicago. And it’s finally set an open date of April 17.
Of course, it’s a golf-themed sports bar based on Caddyshack. The new spot will join the existing Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., which is run by Bill’s brother Andy Murray.
We know Bill already has some bartending experience, as he was seen slinging drinks at his son’s restaurant in Brooklyn (so he has that going for him, which is nice). Perhaps he’ll stop by to guest-bartend at the new place, too!
The brothers signed a lease for the 8,600-square-foot space in Rosemont’s Crowne Plaza Hotel. “In planning for Murray Bros. Caddyshack, we wanted to create a restaurant that captures our family’s love for the game and present it in a way that appeals to everyday golfers and families,” Andy Murray said in a statement.
