Boozy Cinnamon Bun Oreos

Boozy cinnamon bun Oreos

These Oreos have it all: the comfort-food appeal of the beloved sandwich cookie, the alluring spice of cinnamon buns and a boozy kick of whiskey. Just twist apart some Cinnamon Bun Oreos and scrape off the sugary filling, then prepare an alcohol-enhanced mixture that features the flavors of butterscotch, cinnamon and whiskey to slather on in its place. We bet you’ll agree it’s a significant step up from what Nabisco intended.

Cinnamon Bun Oreos are getting tougher to find. If you can’t get your hands on any, feel free to substitute Golden Oreos instead. The whiskey should have plenty of cinnamon kick to compensate.

Ingredients

  • 1 box instant butterscotch pudding mix

  • 2/3 cup whole milk, chilled

  • 3 ounces cinnamon whiskey (such as Fireball or Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Fire)

  • 15 Cinnamon Bun Oreo sandwich cookies (Golden Oreos can be substituted)

Steps

  1. Add the milk and whiskey into a medium bowl. Add the pudding mix and beat for 2 minutes with an electric mixer.

  2. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set.

  3. While the mixture chills, twist apart the cookies, removing and discarding the filling.

  4. When the mixture has set firm, spread about 1 tablespoon onto each cookie half and top with another cookie half.

  5. Chill again to set before serving.
