On that magical, tiny little isle of Treasure Island, dramatically set in the Bay between San Francisco and Oakland, those killer views are put to good use at Woods Island Club, opened in September. Currently, it’s only open from noon to 6 p.m. on weekends, the ideal time to soak up the sun on a sand-filled lawn complete with lawn chairs, food trucks, house-brewed beers, the Bay Bridge before you and the water at your feet.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: There are a range of beers to suit a number of tastes, but the most unique surprise is two wine-beer hybrids in the bar’s Divine Origins series, essentially wild yeast and naturally fermenting fruit aging in oak barrels at the bar. Try the rich, earthy Mourvedre beer or tart-sweet Albarino beer—or better yet, try both.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Stay tuned for its new Outer Sunset brewery to open December, alongside its Oakland brewery, Mission District cerveceria and Polk Street bar (the latter two in S.F.). Its brand-new Crusoe IPA is currently only at the S.F. and Oakland brewpubs.
