Jim Kearns (NoMad Hotel, Pegu Club) and Jon Neidich (Acme) created this sultry Art Deco–themed bar-within-a-bar downstairs from the more boisterous Happiest Hour. This sedate space features carefully garnished drinks that often qualify as works of art, seductive lighting and impeccable old-school “hotel-style” service. User-friendly house cocktails feature cinema-inspired names and incorporate deep flavors and the right amount of sweetness. Plays on the classics break into three “families”: Martini, Manhattan and Old Fashioned. Small bites for two include salt-and-pepper sautéed broccoli and bonsai chicken bites, along with a handful of sandwiches from the restaurant upstairs.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: The Cleopatra is a bright green Tiki drink featuring cachaça, bison grass vodka, pandan extract, banana cordial and lime presented over crushed ice in a curvy hurricane glass.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Best for small groups, perfect for date night. Ready to raise the energy level? Happiest Hour upstairs is also an excellent spot and always ready to party.
