A true relic of Andersonville’s Swedish roots, Simon’s opened shortly after Prohibition and has been a friendly neighborhood gathering place ever since. It’s especially popular come wintertime thanks to its famous glogg (it serves upward of 2,000 gallons annually). But the kitschy wood-paneled interior and impressive bar-length mural draw locals year-round.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: In wintertime, the aforementioned glogg, served with traditional pepperkaker. In summer, there’s a glogg slushie. No joke.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Other than seated at the impossibly long bar, the best spot is in front of the faux fireplace in the back.
