The team behind the Gilroy—along with former Dead Rabbit bartender Pamela Wiznitzer and Ducks Eatery chef Will Horowitz—have conspired to create not just the best bar on the Upper East Side but one of the best bars in the country. You’ll find a seasonally modified cocktail menu featuring interesting yet accessible drinks, a relaxed/convivial/romantic vibe all in one and a Southern-influenced menu with dishes like a mutton burger, fried cauliflower and a savory griddlecake. Domestic beers, a well-curated soundtrack and a small store up front contribute to the uniqueness of this space.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: The Wiz Fizz is a humorous, delicious Ramos riff featuring gin, Cynar, vanilla, lemon, egg white, cream and root beer. One cocktail each month raises funds for a different charity.
