“Whiskey for your mouth, not for our shelves” is the philosophy at this Michelin-starred gastropub offering arguably the best brown-and-stirred menu in town. Cheap whiskey flights are the thing here, as are bespoke L&E barrels cherry-picked in Kentucky.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: Any of the trio of standards (Old Fashioned, Longman Manhattan, Sazerac) would be a great bet, but L&E’s original cocktails are well worth the gamble.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: There’s always a wait for dinner, which means the dozen or so barstools fill up fast. But turnover is fairly quick.
