Open since 1909, J.J. Foley's is the oldest family-owned bar in Massachusetts and quite the historical beacon. Boston's police strike of 1919 was signed here and during prohibition Foley’s served as a "shoe store"—but really was a speakeasy (Shhh.).
Hip and new have no place here. The cocktails are straightforward and affordable and there is a consistently good selection of draft beers.
