Venerable barman Jacques Bezuidenhout and Plumpjack Group‘s Ken Luciano opened Forgery in May 2015, a brick-walled, lofty, inviting SoMa space already drawing in regulars and food-and-drink industry folk for a range of beers, wines and refined cocktails served without attitude. Bezuidenhout’s menu covers a range of spirits, but a couple vodka offerings stand out in both the house cocktails and the twists on classics section. THE DRINK TO DRINK On the elegant, booze-forward side, Pickled Swede plays with a classic Martini or Gibson cocktail, combining Absolut Elyx Vodka, dill-infused Dolin Vermouth and onion, for a savory finish. Go refreshing, savory-sweet with Cadiz: cumin-infused Ketel One Vodka and Manzanilla sherry are served over crushed ice with a subtle touch of passion fruit and honey.
