Forest Hills is now a tiki destination. Don’t look shocked: The location might seem unlikely, but the talent behind this drinking den hails from some of NYC’s finest bars. The owners are veterans of Maison Premiere, Pegu Club and Dutch Kills, another Queens cocktail haven. The result? This bar has high standards. Only fresh juices, house-made syrups and high-quality block ice are served at End of the Century. But the menu itself is easygoing, dappled with classics like Daiquiris and Moscow Mules plus tiki offerings of Planter’s Punch, Mai Tais and the signature Dr. Funk, made with dark rum, absinthe and house grenadine.
THE DRINK TO DRINK:
Take on the trio of Scorpion Bowls if you dare. Start with the absinthe- and cinnamon-spiked Rum Vroom Punch, served over big rocks in a flaming bowl.
