The Seamstress team brings the fictional Southern “town” of Belle Shoals to life in a relaxed Williamsburg bar. Raw wood beams and flooring add ambiance, but it’s the vintage Wurlitzer jukebox packed with blues, soul and Southern Fried Rock that anchors the bar. Jimmy Palumbo (The Up & Up) supervises casual-cool cocktails like the customizable Auntie Bellum (Sherry, coconut syrup, lemon juice, Tiki bitters and a mini of Grand Marnier, garnished with toasted marshmallows). Of course, there’s food, from jalapeño hush puppies to the Hell’s Belle’s (ham-wrapped fried oysters) and burgers. An outdoor garden with room for local bands completes the mini vacay to the wisteria-tinged Shangri-La.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: Horizons stretch with the Lil’ Slice of Heaven (mellow corn whiskey, Black Strap rum, dry curaçao, Bénédictine, pecan orgeat, lemon juice)—strong and sweet enough.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Shotgun shells at the bar are really shot glasses used for weekly specials, often paying tribute to popular New York bartenders.
