Roy Choi is a master of many cuisines. The chef gained fame putting galbi short rib on tortillas in his Kogi food truck to create the Korean taco, and his restaurant empire today includes joints serving Japanese rice bowls, Korean hot pots and Caribbean dishes. A-Frame is Choi’s stoner homage to Hawaii, serving poi hush puppies, poke, spam musubi and moco burgers, along with an array of tiki-ish tropical drinks using all sorts of spirits, in a breezy, beachy setting.
