This historic address on Columbus Avenue has been home to a bar since 1907. Saloon-keepers offer a menu of classic cocktails, high-end whiskey and hearty turn-of-the-century fare (including rabbit 3 ways)—and that’s not to mention live music nightly.

Trick Dog, which opened in the winter of 2012, is run by The Bon Vivants, Scott Baird and Josh Harris. It has an impressive and creative list of original cocktails on a quarterly changing menu that always breaks new ground, design-wise. (Past incarnations have included a Pantone color chart and a sleeve of vinyl 45s.)

In 2010, mixological star Thad Vogler finally opened his own place with Eric Johnson. The drinks showcase a selection of organic ingredients that are locally sourced, and the menu changes daily. Even the furniture is environmentally friendly, including chairs that were created from used wine-barrel staves.
