What Size Jar of Amarenas are you working with for this recipe?? Reason I ask is I have a 6lb can of Amarenas. Should I triple the recipe? More?

I drain the syrup from a jar of morello (a cherry in the marasco family) or sour cherries in light syrup. Add 1/2 cup sugar to the syrup, bring to a boil and reduce by half. Add back to the bottle with the cherries and fill with Luxardo. Refrigerate for 2-3 weeks. If you happen to have it add 1/2 tablespoon of chartreuse - a very nice addition, but don't buy it just for that. It is fine without.
