Top a classic Whiskey Sour with red wine to get this delicious pre-Prohibition tipple.
Add all the ingredients except the wine to a shaker and fill with ice.
Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
Carefully pour the wine over the back of a spoon so it floats on top of the drink.

I use Bulliet Rye and for the wine, Menage A Trois - Midnight, dark red. Don't forget the Bada Bing cheeries, not one, but two :-) Christmas Eve Dinner, this was the most requested drink, everyone loved it. I also used this wine for the pitchers of Sangria.
The wine really takes the bite off of the Rye. I found that Cabernet Sauvignon worked best. It is a refreshing drink suited for any patio that also packs a punch.
