Blanc Armagnac is a relative newcomer to the scene and has only been officially recognized by the Armagnac powers-that-be for a handful of years. Its youth in a world of grand dames, though, means it serves as a fine introduction to the spirit for those not quite ready to take the VSOP plunge. This fruity play on a traditional Brandy Crusta is a drink for every season and palate.
A delicious cocktail, no doubt, but this is soooooooo not a "crusta." It's not even close. The crusta is because of the garnish, which is the absurdly complicated and extensive preparation of the glassware. This is closer to a "sour" than it is a "crusta." Bad mixologist. Bad bad mixologist.
