This garden-fresh simple syrup recipe will add a hint of basil to your favorite cocktails.
Combine the sugar and boiling water.
Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Add the basil leaves and steep in hot simple syrup for 15 minutes.
Strain into a clean jar, cover and refrigerate for up to two weeks.

I am here to tell you booze hounds, the other day my wife and I were playing with Gin and this simple syrup, cucumber slices and basil leaves as garnish, shook it up in the 'ol shaker , poured over ice.. Rocking good, then my wife, god bless her said "Hey what if we were to take a slice of Jalapeno, slice of cucumber and a basil leave, MUDDLE them together in the shaker, then continue as above.... DAMN, that was a ROCK solid refreshing beverage. We shall forever call it the KTD.... seriously give it a shot. What awesome flavor
