I agree with Pat on this one too. I was working as a bartender at a hotel restaurant that was very local and whiskey forward. I worked one service where I had gentlemen from some corporate office at the bar. One of them asked me, "I like rye, what kind of cocktail can you make with that?" and I mentioned the Sazerac along with Sazerac Rye. I make one for the gentleman, then one after that, then another after another for pretty much all of the gentlemen there. If I remember correctly, I made about 14 within an hour. Good stuff!
This is one of my all-time favorite whiskeys of any sort but I have trouble finding it in Arkansas. It's typically under $30 and therefore a real bargain.

Jason, I will add just one other: Sazerac Rye is still my base of choice for a Sazerac cocktail.

Oh, I like this straight rye whiskey. I was telling my friend a while ago, when we were enjoying some fine moonshine whiskey made with my whiskey still that I mostly prefer Sazerac Rye Whiskey straight. The only concession I can make - and this under special circumstances - is with a bit of water; but nothing else!
