The Best Boozy Photos on Instagram This Week

Contributed by

We love Instagram (follow us pls!), but we can’t be everywhere at once.  Each week, we’re going to share the best photos of drinks, bars, bottles—basically everything boozy—that Instagram has to offer.

From doughnuts and creamsicles to artichokes, we’re going full throttle Negroni Week. Instagram users have posted their fair share of classic Negronis and even their own personalized takes on the drink—and we can’t get enough. Check out some of our favorites, and if you want your ‘gram to show up on Liquor.com, tag your photos with #liquorgram and you might see yourself here in the near future. And keep drinking: Negroni Week is in full effect until June 7th!

The Vesper

Besides his obvious contribution to espionage fiction, Ian Fleming’s greatest work may very well have been the infamous Vesper Martini. He first introduced it in his 1953 spy novel “Casino Royale”, when the unshakably cool James Bond orders his Martini shaken rather than stirred, with three measures of gin and one of vodka. Lillet and a lemon peel finished the drink, yielding a strong cocktail that was dry, crisp, and clean, leaving Agent 007 feeling loose and ready to subdue the villain. Is it blasphemy to use vodka along side gin? Perhaps. Is it sacrilegious to shake a Martini? It may very well be. But after drinking a Vesper one thing becomes certain; some rules are made to be broken.

Recipe

  • 3oz Gordon’s Dry Gin
  • 1oz Stolichnaya Vodka
  • 1/2oz Lillet Blanc

Mix ingredients over ice and shake. Strain into a stemmed martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and serve.
