Hello Kitty Wine is a Real Thing

Getting drunk just got way more adorable.

Hello Kitty, the popular Japanese “cat-inspired” character, has been a staple in childhood toys and accessories for more than 40 yearsand now she’s making her mark in the wine industry.

Created in partnership with Italy’s Torti Winery, the Hello Kitty wines look exactly how you would imagine. Current varietals—a rosé, a white wine, a sparkling pinot noir and a blush sparkling wine—come in bottles adorned with a cheekily posed Hello Kitty on a pink label. One even comes in a custom bottle complete with a heart molded into the neck.

Although this is all new to us here in the States, the cute line of vino has been in distribution in Asian and European markets since as early as 2007. The wine will have its American debut at Antonello Ristorante in California’s Orange County, where it will be sold by the glass and bottle, the latter of which can be taken to-go. The restaurant will serve the adorable libation along a Hello Kitty–themed dinner menu beginning October 12, which includes pink hair-bow pasta and cake shaped like the character herself.

If you can’t make it to Southern California anytime soon, look for the wine at your local specialty wine and grocery stores.
